Happy Almost Spring Everyone!

Hey all! Sorry I haven't posted since the move... school became very intense and between my classes, homework, work, and sleep, I didn't have much time for anything. I made it through some tough projects (very time consuming ones), but I'm done with those classes and ready for some new ones! Only 10 classes til I graduate! Hopefully this quarter will be better than last, and even more hopefully, I will have some spare time because spring has come to Savannah and I'm not sure I can resist this amazing weather. The beach is calling me!
As for artwork, I'll continue where I left off, which was Color Theory from freshman year... Enjoy!
The last two are meant to be a diptych, but my best photo of them are separate... So just imagine them next to each other! :)

I hope you like everything! Feel free to comment/give feedback!
And I hope everyone is enjoying their spring break, and if you haven't had it yet, enjoy it when it comes!

A Welcome to the New Year

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! (21 days late!) I've been meaning to update, but something has gotten in the way every time... usually it's my bad luck with the internet. Well, for all of you who don't know, Matt and I moved into a new house! We really love it so far! It's been a bit of work... we have been organizing and finding homes for things all week... but it's starting to come together! I can't wait til we are done getting everything set up! Here's a pic of us on move in day!!

I also just got a job... I am working as an ESL tutor (English as a Second Language). Basically, I just have conversations in English with the international students here at SCAD. I've been having a really good time so far, but it has made me unbelievably busy. I'm working on several projects for school right now which makes it even busier!!

I really want to post my next mini series of my previous artwork, but my internet is acting up... things keep freezing and the pictures aren't uploading well. Bad luck again...

Well anyway, I'm sorry it has been such a long time since my last post! I really want to get back into the swing of things, and slowly but surely it's happening! More soon!!

I am getting bad at this...

Hello everyone! Happy holidays! Sorry it has been so long since my last post... I have been enjoying my immense amount of free time! I've learned some new Christmas songs on guitar which has been eating up my time recently. I also started watching 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' from the beginning of the series, which is really nerdy of me because it is an anime cartoon tv show from nickelodeon geared towards 12 year olds... but for some reason I am obsessed. And of course, I've been watching tons of Christmas movies!!!!
So for today, I will be posting artwork from Color Theory!

This is a collage composed of blue and orange, complements on the color wheel

This is a collage that had to be black and white

And this is a collage that had to be composed of the three primary colors (red, yellow, blue)

So anyway, that's it for today! I hope you all are enjoying the holiday and I'll try to post again soon!

Buckling Down

Hey everyone!
I am really sorry it has been so long since I have updated. Having a break has just been so nice! But I have decided to buckle down, get to work, get the show on the road! Yesterday I picked up a copy of Tim O'Brien's book "Going After Cacciato," which I think will be a really interesting read. I loved "The Things They Carried," so I thought I would enjoy one of his other books as well. I've also been reading "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking Glass." I have enjoyed them so much because as a child seeing the movie I never stopped to think that the wonderful story came from a book and it was really cool to see the words that transferred into an amazing childhood classic.

Okay, now it is time for some artwork! Today's will be from freshman year again, but from my 2D Design class!
Alright... These were all from one project where we explored straight and curved lines. My favorite is the second from the top, but it may be too cluttered for some people's taste. These all took so long, and I don't think I was very proud of them at the time, but now when I look at them I really like them!

So, that's it for today! Oh! And one more thing, go to www.peopleofwalmart.com
there is some pretty insane (but also hilarious) pictures on there! Enjoy!

Free Time Is Amazing.

Phew. So I am finished with finals finally! Once again, my brain is blank... not much to say. I've been slowly preparing for my trip home on Tuesday. I went through my clothes and got rid of some things I never wear. I collected some books, papers, etc. that I won't be using anymore and now I have a huge pile of unused items sitting in my room waiting to be loaded into my car isn't coming home with me right now, but I thought I'd get it out of the way and save Matthew the trouble of packing up all my junk for me. I'm sure he appreciates it. :)
So anyway, today's post includes artwork from Freshman year at SCAD... let's see what I can dig up!
Alright: artwork from Drawing 1

White chalk on black paper... it was interesting to draw because unlike a regular drawing of black on white where you draw the shadows and the highlights are the paper, I had to draw the highlights and not draw the shadows... Quite challenging.

This is the beginning of this drawing to show you a little bit of the process. It is charcoal on bristol paper.

This is the finished product... or so I thought. I brought it to class and my professor said, "Okay. Now you have to destroy it." ...

So THIS is the final product. I actually like the one that isn't "destroyed, " but I didn't have a choice because it was the assignment. I still like it though!

Alright. Well that's all for today! Let me know what you think!

The End of High School

Today will be the last post with my high school artwork. There is one piece I did that I cannot find anywhere, so once I locate it will post it, but until then, today is the last of the HS work. I have some landscape/nature pieces as well as a texture study. I don't really have much else to say today! I hope you enjoy!

Good Morning All!
I have been thinking about how I will go about getting all of my artwork up here without posting a million posts a day. So, I think since I am about to have a month and a half break from school, I will start with my high school work and gradually make it to present day over the course of November and December. I think that is the best option that way my progress will be more evident and it will be easier for me to keep track of what I have posted or not posted. I really need to work on making these posts shorter... I just get so excited!! :)
So today I will post my favorite portraits from high school...Enjoy!
